THE SUNBEAM:


BASIS

One worn out nail of a rally car (<photo) and One seamwelded 'For conpetition purposes' Talbot Sunbeam Gp2? bodyshell -obviously done a bit, but with superb inner wings, found in a barn -seriously. And Oh yes...Bruvsmotorworks expertise!

 

 

 

BODY 

Further seam welded strengthened and gusseted inner wings,  safety devices rollcage,  front strut brace,  fibreglass bonnet and wings,  aluminium fuel tank,  all sound proofing and underbody sealant removed,  unnecessary wiring removed,  perspex side windows and rear hatch,  fire walled,  drilled bumper,  hand held and plumbed in extinguishers,  competition seats and 4 point harnesses,  springalex steering wheel,  ti dash,  intercom,  front chassis brace and sumpguard,  RAC log book,  Cherry rosso paint,  competition weight: 825 Kg

ENGINE

1600 AE +020" pistons, Ti rods, lightweight flywheel and lightened and balanced crankshaft assembly, Ultra big valve head 1.75 inlets,  Isk'y valve springs, lightweight retainers,  10.5:1 compression,  Piper 285 cam with increased lift to optimise valve size,  duplex timing gear, longish inlet further lengthened for torque and cooling via Bruvsmotorworks carb spacers,  Lucas dizzy with no vacuum advance,  baffle to front of sump, oil cooler, ti radiator and expansion tank.  Peco 4-2-1 manifold,  Ashley system,  Standard horsepower 110 Bhp at the flywheel,  Bruvsmotorworks horsepower 140 Bhp @ 7000 at the rear wheels

SUSPENSION and BRAKES

Bias pedal box,  hydraulic handbrake,  tarmac front Bilsteins converted to 2.25" coilovers,  Roller bearing top mounts,  Gravel rear bilsteins,  200 lb front springs, various rears around 200 lbs,  Front anti roll bar discarded for much improved turn in.  S.B Heavy duty front drag link and rear trailing arm bushes,  AP forest front calipers with AP 10.25 disks with alloy bells,  sierra rear calipers with fiesta discs, 2.2 lock to lock quick rack with sleeved arms,  ti alloys, Aleycats and KN starmag 6x13 wheels, 180/530x13 competition tyres. 

FUEL SYSTEM

2 red top pumps running in parallel,  40 dellorto's rebuilt with 34mm chokes and trumpets,  K&N filters,  super unleaded fuel, rolling road tuned by P.Robinson 

TRANSMISSION

Skip Brown conversion bellhousing to Ford 4 speed gearbox.  AP competition clutch,  Tran-x straight cut gearbox 2.48:1 1st and 1:1 4th, Rose jointed quickshift lever.  Sunbeam axle Dural braced with Tran-x plate LSD 4.375:1 CW&P.
